July
Well July had it's share of good times and bad. Let's begin with the Canada Day celebrations with Amanda, Isabella, Patrick, Leanne and Reigen at Ft. Edmonton Park. Haven't seen the Mellett's in a long while so it was an enjoyable day with them. Spent the evening at Legislature watching the fireworks Isabella missed them by 10 mins. Oh well maybe next year. We took a trip to the Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail and it was amazing. Love the open space and of course spending time with my sister and her family is always great. Dave celebrated his 20th Birthday on July 9th. We did enjoy a day at Wabumun Lake with my other sister, nephews, wifes, great neice and nephews as well - Isabella always enjoys the water and of course the swings are a huge hit for that girl. July also brought me back in touch with some friends I used to work with. I enjoyed a nice dinner with Joy and Barb and of course we talked about "old" times. I got a nice visit with my sister when she offered to come and help me haul some of our "junk" and we also managed to get rid of a HUGE CAN OF DOG WASTE that has been lingering around for over a year. Spending time with friends has always been something I enjoy and when I got an opportunity to reconnect with my friend Peggy, it was pleasant. We have drifted apart over the years and it's unfortunate as we were extremely close when the kids were growing up, but now it seems that life has provided different paths for us and we just don't seem to have too much in common. My monthly dinner engagement with Kim was awesome since I managed to surprise her when Joanne (an old school friend) showed up. We shared some laughs and teased Joanne about getting lost in St. Albert (who does that). July brought us some tragic news when we found out that Lee 20 years of age, suffering with Cancer for over a year has passed away. A disease such as this shall never be understood or explained but when you see a young person suffer from such pain it simply breaks your heart in everyway. We shared some tearful and happy moments when we gathered for a Big "0" reunion at the farm to share special memories and remember the infectious quick witted humour that was felt by this young man that we will all miss so very much. RIP Lee may you be free from pain and smile down on your mom and sister whilst you and Clint continue to build that house in heaven the two of you began down on earth such a short time ago. Liz and Bonnie have created a bond that will last for all time knowing that their loved ones are together. Your family is left to cherish the life that you lived and to feel the impact that you leave will remain with us for all time. Make time with the ones you love as only God knows the time frame for you. Pray for strength as each day passes.
What a great post - and so well said! I just read a great article about busy vs full - you had a full month which is way better than busy! Keep up the great blogging!
