Hi there - I'm just looking back on my posts and I think I missed a month - not last month but Sept. Of all months to miss "my birthday". Let's see if I can remember what happened in September...went to Camp Stumpy ahhhh yes always a great time at Camp Stumpy...I celebrated 20years with the Govt - wow - I still find that so hard to believe that I started out as receptionist when my baby was just 1year old...and now my baby is 21 and livin life...I joined my daughter, grand daughter, sister and nephew to Backyardigans - a fav for Isabella and Noah and boy did they have fun. It's always great to see their faces light up and sing along to the characters they watch on tv. And enjoyed our annual birthday dinner with Sandy and Georgie at Franco's yummo. Never fails when you can enjoy an evening out with friends, food and laughter. Now to catch everyone up with November News: SCRAPBOOKING.....YEAH- can't beat getting away for a couple of days with my cousin, s

October 2011

So here it is time for my monthly blog. October is my favorite month and I would like to tell you why. It ends as fast as it begins. Fall is a time for change, in the air, in the scenery, in my life and it happens to be my grand daughters birthday. Thanksgiving was spent enjoying an afternoon game of football and having a great dinner at home. I got the opportunity to go back to New Brunswick for a week with my friend and her son to enjoy the celebration of her grandmparents 65th wedding anniversary. We had a splendid time tasting the yummo seafood that there seems to always be. The end of October we celebrated my grand daugthers birthday with a day of my parents coming in for a nice BBQ and yummo peanut butter-butter cream cake and 1 day of fun with friends at Kidz Quarterz in Sherwood Park. Isabella loves looking after babies and my parents really came through with a new baby and a gorgeous quilted blanket that my mom made to wrap her baby in, they also gave her a little tea set with

August 2011

So here we are the 8 month and I'm blogging about my adventures. WOW is all I have to say. The beginning of August started out fabulously with me finishing up my vacation and being able to get away to my sisters (all by myself) to spend some glorious days sitting on the deck enjoying the sunshine. Work has been extremely busy, boring, and well to tell you the absolute truth not very fun at all. We have been re-organizing and having reorganizing meetings what seems like forever with no concrete direction at all. Everyone has been uptight, upset and well let's be honest completely frustrated with the entire process. I know when I first started blogging I wanted my blog to be about fun stuff, but lately I've been looking inside myself (which is not a bad thing), but it's been giving me some clarity (which is great) on what I want in life, in the future, and who I get the most satisfaction in being with. I am still very much content with being by myself, and living with my

It's not the end of the Month but.....

I began reading a book "one thousand gifts" I couldn't believe after 3 chapters in this book I just feel overwhelmed with emotions for the author, for myself, for my family. I am so grateful for the blessings in my life and where my life has brought me to so far. I continue to be thankful for the things "gifts" in my life and I say that as that is exactly what they are. They are gifts - given to me or shown to me by a greater power other than myself. I have been given these gifts to teach me gratitude, inspiration, thankfulness, goodness, and to teach me that I have to care for each gift I have to show love, gentleness, kindness and be grateful because even though life is good and you are good, life also brings hate, pity, greed, fear and even though you try and do good and protect yourself and the people you love sometimes it isn't enough. We need to learn how to handle rejection, pain, and even death. Everyone questions why - why when there is such good in

July 2011

Well here we are starting August and I need to share all the wonderful things that have been happening in my life in July. 1st of July is Canada Day where my girls and I enjoyed a fun filled day down at the Legislature in the wading pool where the girls splashed and dashed for a few hours till it was time to settle in to our usual spot to watch the fireworks. Isabella managed to stay awake this time to stare at the lights in the sky and wonder what the heck was going on, it didn't take her long once we walked up the street to close her little eyes and be off to dreamland for the ride home. Another milestone birthday was reached in my family, my youngest son turned 21years old...whew - all my babies are grown and flown. We were scheduled to attend another Truhn family reunion but since my son's birthday was on the same weekend I opted to share in the memories of turning another year older instead of making the 3 hour drive for an overnight trip. We said goodbye to a dear man and

June 2011

So here we are 1/2 way through 2011 and I continue to share my happenings as if I'm writing a book. I have to tell you that I've enjoyed sharing my thoughts a lot more than what I originally thought I would when I began. I originally had the plan to blog so that I would remember what all happened in my life every month. I loved the fact that every time I read my sisters blog about what my nephews were up to you it brought me a little closer to knowing who they were and what kind of boys they were growing up to be. I enjoy reading and hearing about what is happening in their lives. I enjoy blogging as it gives you a sense of where you are at, what you have done and what you still want to do. Another reason i starting blogging was to focus on my bucket list = all the things that you want to do before you are no longer on this earth. I have thought a lot of what seems to be missing in my life, or what I should, could, would be doing... and it boils down to I'm happy with the w

May 2011 - post #2

So May turned out to be another month spent making memories by enjoying Mother's Day in Moosejaw with my grand daughter, daughter, sister and Mother. We left Wed aftn May 4th to drive to my sisters where we spent the evening talking about what a fabulous time we were about to embark on at the Spa. We have been planning this Mother's day weekend since Christmas it almost felt like and was absolutely thrilled when the time finally came to go. The only and I'm going to say only was that my other sister couldn't join us. My sister has a greenhouse and other family priorities at this time of year that didn't allow her the time to get away. We took the scenic route on Thurs and knew that we had 8 hours in the car with 4 women and a toddler so we all had our "things to keep us occupied" piles and needless to say when we arrived we all thought the "once we got there" was greater than the "are we there yet" worked out well in the end. The next c

May2011 - reflection post 1

So as it turns out people are right about a couple of things - "time flies when you are having fun" and "as you get older the years fly by". Why is that I wonder... I won't even begin to try and figure that out and I won't even comment further as to why I think that is - I just want to assure that people are right about those two things. I was given a book for Mother's Day from my son "travelling with Pomegranates" - a mother daughter story that made me laugh, made me cry and made me think about my past, present and future all at the same time. I love the fact that my son gave it to me, I'm glad that it was given to me at a time in my life that brought me so much enlightment, empowerment and ah haa moments. I want to share so much of the story with you but yet I want other Mother's, daughter, aunts and sisters to take the time and get ahold of this book if you can. It is written by a mother and daughter that have reached stages in each

April 2011

Can you believe it - 4 months have already passed. The ones that say time flies when you are having fun are so right. April showers were no where to be found so I'm still hoping that May flowers will be blooming right quick. April was a busy month for me personally and professionally. At work April is what is considered to be RIM Month - Records and Information Management Month - you spend the entire month celebrating, participating and sharing with others the great things about Records and Information. Well I did that with a passion as you know that is "my forte". INFORMATION I love it - love it. But, you know there's a but - there are many ways to share information and we should remember when and where is the best way. Keep reading I'll explain a bit more as my blog...goes on.  I got posters 18x24 - I gave them out to whoever wanted. I so wish I could show you but maybe if I describe it to you you will get it just the same. #1  money flowing out of a laptop with

March madness...copied from my sister's blog

WOW...I dare to say that ending 3 months of what will be the longest, coldest, drawn out winters in years is speeding by. I can't believe that there is still so much snow and yet there is so many potholes, huge puddles and new growth is beginning to pop up. I know Spring has arrived when I get that ever anticipated email from my sister saying "the greenhouse is open" YEAH if that isn't a sign of THANK GOODNESS WINTER IS OVER...I'm so looking forward to taking a trek out there and having my friend Carrie join me as well. March 11th at the Calgary Science Center I enjoyed spending some time with my eldest sister and nephews at the Titanic Exhibit on and what an experience that was. We began the journey with our picture being taken as we boarded the massive ship and were each given a boarding pass that identified each of us by name and class. Each turn we were taken through the journey of the passengers as they made their way through the ship. Kitchen, sleeping quart

February 2011

OK so we are ending the 2nd of what I think is going to be another year of growth, change and what I think will be another exciting year. I started off the month by heading to Ft. Saskatchewan with my mom, sister, aunty's and cousins for another great scrapbooking weekend. We managed to snag an amazing deal at the Super 8 and have a great boardroom for all of us to scrap our buns off all weekend for $100.00. cheap eh. and of course laughing, drinking and just having a ball. My sister and I snuck away for part of the day on Saturday to visit with my friend who had a christian bookstore and wouldn't you know it (was closing out) so was having a marvelous sale. Lori and I ended up getting a few treasures and great fellowship with Carolyne and Darla. I applied for another job and had an interview but was not successful at getting the job and I think I'm ok with that as it was working under my boss that I had before he left for a new position at the end of January...so not sure

2011 Jan

Well here I am once again blogging about what I have been up to. I need to start by saying WOW end of January of 2011. I thought 2010 zipped by I can only imagine how quickly this year will go by. January found everyone back to work after the holidays. I began a new course Face to Face Leadership for two days in the months of Jan to Apr so that will be enjoyable. I missed knit night this month as the weather has been extremely disheartening but predictable for January - bitterly cold. Tons of snow I guess they say that we haven't had this much snow since 1974. Missed my monthly dinner with my friend as well. I don't like missing seeing and doing fun things that bring a smile to my face. What does bring a smile to my face is seeing the wonderful changes in my grand daughter oh my goodness what a personality that little one has. Work has seen some change as well. My boss has moved on to greener pastures and will continue his career with another area. I applied for another job tha
